Our Junior section is overseen by a Junior Committee with club professional Simon Amor being the main co-ordinator and leader of our coaching programme that aims to identify and develop young talent.
We currently have both boys and girls in the County teams in our ranks and many other fine players. Simon gives personal tuition to all the boys and girls and arranges a full programme of matches for them to experience competitive golf in a friendly environment. For details of the juniors matches being held in 2017/2018 click here .
There are also a number of Junior open tournaments details of this can be found by clicking here .
We have a ‘Short Course’ at the Club. This course is appropriate for the size, strength, and technical skills of young juniors who will all have the chance of making pars and birdies.
The club has a Golf Mark Award which is a national scheme that identifies and recognises junior and beginner friendly golf facilities. The three key areas within the golf club which are assessed are:
- Coaching & Playing
- Club Environment (including sports equity & ethics)
- Child Protection & Duty of Care
We offer free membership to any junior with a parent or grandparent who is a full member of the club.
If you would like to get in to golf or try again then try our Coaching Course for the Summer Holidays. Click on the form to print it. All are welcome, girls and boys.
A message from the 2017 Juniors Captain Alex Jewell
As the Junior Captain for 2017, I would like to wish you all a warm welcome to Marlborough Golf Club. I have been a member now for a number of years and in that time Marlborough has helped me improve my golf game, get involved in club competitions and meet new friendly people. I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all the best of luck on our stunning course and look forward to seeing you at the Club in 2017.
