Our Junior section is overseen by a Junior Committee with club professional Simon Amor being the main co-ordinator and leader of our coaching programme that aims to identify and develop young talent.
We currently have both boys and girls in the County teams in our ranks and many other fine players. Simon gives personal tuition to all the boys and girls and arranges a full programme of matches for them to experience competitive golf in a friendly environment.
We hold a  Summer Coaching Camp every year.  All juniors are welcome.
We have a ‘Short Course’ at the Club. This course is appropriate for the size, strength, and technical skills of young juniors who will all have the chance of making pars and birdies.
The club has a Golf Mark Award which is a national scheme that identifies and recognises junior and beginner friendly golf facilities.  The three key areas within the golf club which are assessed are:
  • Coaching & Playing
  • Club Environment (including sports equity & ethics)
  • Child Protection & Duty of Care
We offer free membership to any junior with a parent or grandparent who is a full member of the club.

Safegolf Accreditation
What is SafeGolf?

We are pleased to announce that we have achieved the National Governing Body Safegolf Award on 12th March 2021.

SafeGolf is a partnership of UK golf bodies committed to promoting a safe and positive environment for all those participating, working and volunteering in the sport of golf.

The SafeGolf partnership consists of members from the golfing bodies across Great Britain & Ireland and has been established to help golf respond to the issue of child protection in sport. Its mission is to safeguard the welfare of children and young people, as well as adults at risk, in the sport of golf.

SafeGolf is firstly, a website – www.safegolf.org – through which anyone with a concern about the welfare of a player, or the behaviour or practice of a coach, volunteer, organiser, parent or a player, can contact the lead safeguarding officer at their national governing body.

Secondly, it is the safeguarding standard England Golf will promote to all their affiliated clubs to ensure all clubs provide a safe and positive experience to children and young people whilst playing golf. The PGA are also using the standards to apply to all their PGA professional Coaches.
