Sunday Carvery Feedback

I had heard recently that the golf club have reinstated Sunday Carveries every week, so Anne and I took the opportunity yesterday of trying it again.

We were delighted with the Carvery served by the very courteous Dining Room staff, and as a result I have booked for a family party to dine there at the end of the month.

Hi Steve, just like to say a big thank you from our golf society emerald park for a great day. The greens were in great condition and so was the rest of the course considering the very dry weather we have had; please thank the greens staff, can you also thank the chef for some really good food and some great bacon rolls hopefully we will get to play here again next year.

Birthday Party Function

I just wanted to say a big thank you for a wonderful birthday party on Saturday. My Dad was on brilliant form and enjoyed every minute. He loved the setting and the views and all the guests said that it was a fantastic occasion - a superb venue with lovely food and everything running smoothly.

All of the staff were great, so friendly and accommodating, and in particular, Darryl was brilliant, so helpful both before and during the party and we can’t praise him highly enough. He came and had a chat with my Dad afterwards, which was really nice.

We feel we made an excellent choice in choosing your venue and just wanted you to know how happy we were with the whole event - it made Dad’s day special and memorable.

Dear Steve & Rachael,

Just a quick line of thanks for our CHGC Seniors Day with you yesterday.

From the visitors’ perspective it was the happiest of occasions. We enjoyed the course - with many rookies saying that they would love to return for another shot at it when conditions are more ’normal’, but that they really enjoyed the lay-out and felt that it was in very good order in the circumstances - especially the greens. Everyone we met was welcoming, and - in particular - Darryl upstairs was a star, and how lucky you are to have him.

Thanks so much to you too - for all the unseen organisation which enabled it to happen. Much appreciated.

Cheers for now… and I think we may even get some rain at the w/e!

Many thanks for your excellent hospitality for our visit to you on the 14th July. The whole day with you was enjoyed by our entire group as the lunch, the golf and the welcoming demeanor of all at the club was an absolute joy. All those that enjoyed the day have expressed their desire to return and as such our 'normal' monthly organiser has added Marlborough to our 2 yearly rota.

"Excellent service throughout the day"

Following our very successful day at Marlborough Golf Club on the 2nd May, I am emailing to express our thanks to all involved. The bar and restaurant staff, kitchen staff, office and pro shop were all very helpful, providing excellent service throughout the day.

We have received many favourable comments from our members, and one said to me yesterday how much better the course was since he last played there a few years ago. Also the carvery dinner was a real treat.

Would you please pass on our appreciation to all involved, and if possible can we pencil in the same May Bank Holiday for next year.

"I think one of the BEST I've had. Very fresh and tasty"

Just wanted to say what an absolute smashing job all your staff did for Claire and Gary's wedding party on Saturday  evening.

The whole place was spotlessly clean, the staff very friendly and helpful, and then the food!!! Wow outstanding. In all honesty I think one of the BEST I've had. Very fresh and tasty. The amount of selection, excellent, can't praise you all enough and will definitely recommend you.

"A good test of golf in a beautiful setting"

I just wanted to thank you for a great day we had at Marlborough, which was saw the culmination of our three day GOTIE trip to Wiltshire, all played in glorious weather.

Very many thanks for the hospitality and friendliness shown to us by the bar and kitchen guys and yourselves.

A great breakfast to set us on our way to tackle the lovely course, with some testing pin positions and all twelve of us agreed, a good test of golf in a beautiful setting, finishing with the GOTIE trophy presentation, in your clubhouse.

"Marlborough is equal to, if not surpassing Bowood"

I just wanted to say how impressed we are with the course conditions. It's been a great summer for growth (in the end) but you've still got to manage it. We used to play at Bowood and got used to the 'championship' course standards. Well it's fair to say, Marlborough is equal to, if not surpassing Bowood right now, it's truly spectacular and congratulations should be shared to all. The greens are superb and the definition to the rest of the course is just stunning. 

A great job being done by all, please share my thoughts to everyone at the club.

"One of my most enjoyable experiences on a society day for a number of years"

I just wanted to drop a note to say thanks again for the Society day we had with you last Friday.

From start to finish I can’t fault our experience with you.

Just a couple of highlights that stood out.

• Wonderful bacon roll – I know it’s simple but you’d be surprised what some clubs pass off as acceptable
• Very well organised system for Covid restrictions with clear signage.
• Welcome greeting from the Club manager – never had this before on many society days – really nice touch
• Unbelievable generosity with your kind donation to our prizes.
• The course, a lovely mix of holes, very appealing to the eye and all in very good condition.
• The meal at the end!!! Wow full roast and desert…beats a ham, egg and chips anytime.
  

All in all I’d say it was one of my most enjoyable experiences on a society day for a number of years – my golfing performance excluded.

Please pass on my thanks to all of your staff that looked after us.

4.9 stars out of 5, only missing out because someone forgot to turn the wind off !!

Definitely a course/club I’d recommend to others and one I’ll hope to revisit again soon.
